GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Curriculum

At The Vale Primary School our vision is to create an environment that encourages all to be inspired.

We aim to ignite a passion for learning by enabling everyone to become confident and curious as active life-long learners.

We aim to provide an active and memorable journey by inspiring our children through excellent teaching practices.

We aim to enable opportunity by stretching learners towards their individual potential, dreams and goals.

We aim to nurture and respect the whole school and wider community by having an ethos based on strong and supportive relationships with peers and adults; by working with our families to create an aspirational and caring school community in which everyone is valued and by ensuring that all successes are celebrated.

As part of the GLF Multi Academy Trust we benefit from being part of a forward-thinking academic organisation and have access to a range of beneficial collaborative opportunities where we can learn from others.  We fully support the vision to Grow, Learn and Flourish in all that we do.

At The Vale Primary School, we value each child as an individual with a unique potential for learning. Our intent is to enable each child to participate fully in current and future society as a responsible, self-confident citizen. We promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical qualities of all pupils. We believe that an effective curriculum offers knowledge, skills, understanding and progression. Our curriculum is designed with these principles in mind: it is personalised, reflecting the background and experience of our pupils; it is outward facing, setting learning in global contexts where possible; it celebrates diversity to emphasise unity; it is rooted in authenticity and context so that learning is relevant. Additionally, we firmly believe that to fully enhance the life chances of our children, our curriculum must actively promote the acquisition of rich language and depth of understanding.

We define our curriculum as the totality of a child’s experience at The Vale Primary School.
