GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Linked to our Robin Class' wider curriculum topic on 'Transport' we were fortunate enough to have another mode of transport brought into school. A child in Reception, who takes part in motor cross events, was so excited to show his motorbike to everyone, the clothes that he has to wear to keep him safe and to ride it around the playground. Children had the opportunity to explore it and to ask questions. Ready Set Go session! Wren class were so excited to do a Ready Set Go session in the hall! (Gross motor circuit with apparatus). Y2 had an amazing trip to Farnborough Aviation Museum. They learnt all about Samuel Cody who designed a plane and made the first powered flight in the UK in 1908. Among other wonderful activities, the children experienced what it was like to be plunged into darkness during an air-raid in an underground shelter; saw Frank Whittle's jet engine; explored a Puma helicopter and competed for the accolade of Champion Aviator in a paper-plane challenge.
